So I guess it all explains why pc games such as Brother's in Arms:Hell's highway and asassin's creed are being ridiculously delayed numerous times for some strange reason. well iam not a pirater but I will say this....It's never gonna stop.

the game industry can try to pull out the best strategy out of the Sun Tzu war manuel, somebody is gonna crack the games regardless. and PC is not only the victim, consoles are catching it too. just look up any popular game in any torrent site. its availiable in raw file. all you have to do is snag it. thats right, snag it! and if you are a true computer whiz and know a thing or two about files and imaging, its cake.

but you still got those other millions who don't use torrents and the games still generate mad revenue and its not fair to make shit too complicated for the "honest consumer". so what are these greedy faggot game industries bitching about? more money for a private jet? if they think these delays are an effort to say "confuse" these Jedi piraters waiting for the release date like vultures in the Mahabi desert, they are stupid. they are only hurting themselves. and its simple, release the games, stop bitching make money.

WTF? Piracy keeping developers in check? What crack pipe do you smoke? All it really does is make developers take less risks and create only what's gauranteed to sell. Even still you actually think pirates actually care about that? They only care about consuming the latest greatest release and move onto the next. They could care less about innovation in gaming. Really, if you're gonna steal, say it. Don't try to sugar coat it or excuse yourself. Well, at least that means you have some semblance of guilt that you'd do that.

I've rarely downloaded games. Piracy on games is like stealing a beat up old car that runs like @#$%. Half the time the PC games have trouble running. Although it is some what nice to see the game before you purchase it to know whether it's worth the money or not. Not that it's right or not, but I've done it before to see if it'd be something I'd be into.

On another note, what about old games? I've searched my @%$ off for some good old games like Curse of Monkey Island or Grim Fandango. Some Classic old games. But some companies don't support those products any more and I can't purchase them. What do you do then?

sharing with a best friend is just a nice way of saying stealing. i'm sorry, but thats what it amounts to.

i know games are getting more pricey these days, but development costs for a lot of the AAA titles are huge.

games like call of duty 4 have so many features, like multiplayer, arcade mode etc. that you really are getting a good deal on the pc or the xbox360 - and you don't need a crysis level machine to play it either!

if you figure out how much a movie goes for, for lets say 90 minutes of entertainment versus a game which in some cases gives upwards of 20 hours of entertainment value, and if it has multiplayer, well, you're getting such a good deal.

the thing to do is rather than steal, rent first, or read multiple reviews - chances are, if all the reviews (except for a certain website we won't mention here) agree that its fantastic, then chances are it probably is worth the cash

i mean, even i have issues with the annual need for speed full price update, which is what i think it amounts to ;o) i still dont think people think about all the people who work to get that made. if you think you're sticking it to the man, whoever that might be, consider that you're sticking it to people, families and kids just like you

Right, 'cause it's only stealing once, and we all know that's not really stealing, right ?

Hey, in my personal opinion, stealing is wrong.
But sharing with your best friend (note, singular) isn't bad.

But when you're distributing copies of games to a large amount of people, that's when it's across the line.

jeff isn't a moron, he's just not too bright.

there is no excuse for copying games. even the crap ones. i make my living as an art director for a company where we make video games.

the amount of hard work that goes into making a game is incredible, and to have our means of making an income treated in such a way is despicable. it also shows an incredible lack of respect from the people we make games for.

would you go out and steal a car? or steal books from a book store? would you walk up to someone and grab their lunch out of their hands?

well, when you copy games, you steal. and the more stealing, the less really good games are being developed because indie developers can't afford to put all that time and effort in and then discover that the majority of their games are being stolen, and you are in effect preventing us from feeding ourselves and our families. we are not rich, or wealthy, or any of that. we are hard working creatives. creating for you.

so why steal from us. even if you put a big corporate face to the developers like EA, you are only hurting people like me, and gamers everywhere, stifling innovation, and actually promoting yet another round of shovelware, sequel and the like.

Jeff, you're a moron.

There is just as much piracy in console gaming as there is in PC gaming; if not more since CD keys aren't typically an issue.

Jeff, you're a moron. You should try to get a big game out within time constraints checking thousands of lines of code to make sure everything works alright. Bugs are bound to happen. If you pirate anything at all you should be ashamed. Even if you don't like a game, it took people many hours of work and toil to get it out and on the shelves. Have some respect for your betters.

I do however like that Xbox Live mitigates cheating (as would the inherent limitations in consoles). Though, I am admittedly not a console gamer.

On a side note OpFlash had about the worst interface ever (and was very buggy at its inception).

It sucks that pc games are dying from piracy. of course there is no way piracy is the single cause of pc gaming demise. It wouldnt be , ea, activision and the other money grubbers rushing sub-standard and bugged games to the market? I personally enjoy spending 50+ us dollars for a game to sit and watch for a patch to play it. or even better yet , a ported crappy console game, I personally love those, especially when its not mouse/keyboard compatable. how about the total lack of replayability in most games, unless you like to reskin or make multiplayer maps. wee.

How about the graphics dept, obsolete hardware within a year to run the most currect games, and the suppliers forcing expensive hardware upgrades. or 300.00+ dollars every 2 years for the latest console. dont forget the $$ on all the new games for these crappy consoles. I dont pirate, i try, and i buy the ones i try and like. I still play the original flashpoint, these guys had it right - replayability. I have spent alot of money on good pc games in last 10 years. Piracy has also saved me the same amount.
If anything, pirates should be keeping the industry idiots in check.

the only thing i agree with this pathetic blog , is the cheating response above, cheaters = child molesters in my book.

You dont like what i said kiss my a$$

That reason alone explains a lot of the cheating online in a PC game. If they didn't have to pay for it, what's the problem in a little aim-bot to help them win, hmmm ? This is exactly the reason I moved from PC to console gaming. Just about everyone on XBox Live has had to pay for the game and the service. There are still scumbags, but at a much less visible rate than the alternative.
