India has been well-recognized in recent years for it’s involvement in technology related industries. However, little has been said about the video game market in the country. According to a report by iSuppli Corp. titled ‘Consumer Electronics Industry in India’, India’s video game market is expected to rapidly expand up to US$125.4 million by the year 2010. This would basically be about a 75 percent growth rate in a 4 year period.

Sony currently projects selling at least 10,000 PS3 units in India by the end of 2007. That doesn’t sound like much, but the PS3 is far more expensive in India and we’re also talking about a very new market.
