By now you’ve probably seen the impressive trailer for Quantic Dream’s upcoming Heavy Rain, which shows the main protagonist o the game. Now here’s the kicker: if she dies, the story doesn’t stop. That’s right, there are so many different paths to the story in this game that not even the death of the main character can end it. As David Cage of Quantic Dream explains:

“I can’t really tell you too much about what the story’s about or how it’s going to work with the characters, all I can tell you that your character – the main character – can die, and the story will continue. You can continue to play, without this character, of course.”

Cage further stated that this wouldn’t move the game into a side story, but that the main “big story” would still continue. I really can’t think of any other game right now that has done the same in the past, so that’s certainly an impressive storytelling feat. I’ll just chalk that up as another reason I’m really looking forward to this game.

In Omikron you could die, then continue as a different person. I never got far enough for that to happen though, so I don’t know how it worked out.

  2. Serio says:

Very impressive. How long for a PC port though? 2 months is my bet!

  3. Confederacy says:

No, the game is PS3 exclusive from now on.

  4. Serio says:

FF13 was also PS3 exclusive, but it’s coming for the 360, and possibly PC at a later time. Besides, with all the potential this game has, they can’t let themselves be limited by a console.

  5. Crusha_aa says:

Yeah, but FF13 isnt being published by Sony.

  6. Buddy Love says:

Quit the idiotic banter. PS3 and anything associated with it is fag. You’re lucky you got Bioshock (which isn’t fag because the true gamers got it first). Of course you Sony shiteaters probably don’t even appreciate it.

  7. TomSizzle says:

    sweet ass looking pic.

    Have some hype-pie.

  9. wow says:

lawl @ buddy love, that was an awesome quote, though i doubt we PC gamers will get this one, the kind of games tend to stay with the PS

  10. Serio says:

Probably. But i still think it’d sell best on PC since there’s more people with high end PCs than people with PS3s.

  11. Vulture says:

I had a PS3 once. I thought it was better than the 360. Free internet, and it was wireless. In about 5 minutes I was connected and playing boxing online.I also prefer the PS controllers to 360’s controllers. Only problem was lack of any good games, which is why I got rid of it.

PC still beats out any console. I’ve had more fun on my 486 laptop than I have had on the PS3.

  12. Serio says:

Indeed. I personally prefer the 360 though, but that’s because i wouldn’t be able to use the PS3 properly because of it’s size. And the 360 is wireless too. At least the newer editions are.

  13. **MWMW** says:

i didnt think a 360 has got wifi built in. you can pay more and get the adapter included but is still an extra

  14. Serio says:

Oh right. I’m amazed Sony dares use WiFi. Everyone knows how easy it is to hack into.

  15. Duddee says:

Ill take your hype-pie and match it with some hype-waffles. Hype-lunch for 2.
