Ian Bogost on The Colbert Report Last Night

For those who missed it, here’s a video of Ian Bogost’s guest appearance on The Colbert Report last night, as Shawn mentioned yesterday. As expected, Bogost discussed his new book, Persuasive Games: The Expressive Power of Video Games, as well his thoughts on how video games can be used to inform people about social and political issues. He also makes the argument that even some of the more mainstream games make their own social commentaries, citing GTA: San Andreas as an example. Of course the whole piece was punctuated by Stephen Colbert’s witticisms, making the whole interview much more entertaining. Enjoy!

Worthless they only talked about the one topic. I was expecting so much more. But then again it was only what, 5 minutes? maybe less?

Wow, he did really well. Good interview, I wasn’t expecting that.
