Humana Developing Health Conscious Video Games

Trying to get gamers to do some exercise might be the easiest thing you could do. You just need the right video games.
Humana Inc. is trying to reach consumers and create a more health-conscious society, and the newest route they’re taking is by paying students at the University of Southern California from the school’s GamePipe Laboratory program to develop video games which incorporate exercise. More games for the Wii, maybe?
“When you think of video games, you typically think of ‘couch potatoes’ sitting in front of the TV, playing for hours,” Grant Harrison, vice president of Humana’s Integrated Consumer Experience division, said in a press release. “We don’t see the future that way. We see health games changing behaviors, basically the way families learn and engage in physical activity to improve their health.”
Humana is collaborating with Serious Games pioneer Digitalmill Inc. to develop the games, and also with Touchtown Inc. to develop games for senior citizens. Video games for all!

Wow, that picture….
how is the little kid with the big hair playing while not looking at the tv?
Whats with the white guys feet? They’re HUGE
I’m sorry, but when I play video games, I WANT to be sitting on my couch to relax from my hectic day. I can play for hours on end by moving only my thumbs, but if I’m expected to do actual physical activity, then that will cut my gaming time down. Not only will I play less of my game, but I’ll be exhausted afterwards.
