Huh? Puzzle Quest Devs Working on Neopets Puzzle Adventure Next

Not content with just working on an expansion to Challenge of the Warlords and a new sci-fi follow-up, the developers behind the beloved Puzzle Quest games have announced their next project, which is taking their talents to a surprising franchise. Apparently, Infinite Interactive’s next project will be a game called “Neopets Puzzle Adventure,” and yes, I do mean those Neopets. In the hierarchy of “creatures that you raise and battle,” I’d say they fall third, behind Pokemon and Digimon; but you’re kind of scraping the barrel by that point. I was pretty disappointed to hear this, until I realized that the developers were probably just going slap the usual puzzle-based gameplay along with items and spells all over the things; so the whole Neopets backdrop probably won’t matter much. The game already looks like Puzzle Quest, except instead of playing as a fantasy warrior of some sort, you play as a monkey in a fetish mask. I may have to give this one a second look whenever it’s released for the DS, Wii, and PC.
