How to Unlock the Five Bonus Weapons in Battlefield: Bad Company

No doubt you remember the uproar caused when it was discovered EA planned to charge for certain weapons in the upcoming Battlefield: Bad Company. And you probably also remember how EA then tried to temper the ensuing internet backlash by changing their strategy so that five of the extra weapons could be unlocked by leveling up in the game (or just purchasing the Gold Edition), while the other five would be released through different promotions. Well, now it seems they’ve finally revealed what you’ll have to do to in order to get the last five weapons:
- Assault (F2000 Assault Rifle) - Veterans, register your Battlefield soldier name to get this weapon unlock.
- Demolition (USAS12 Shotgun) - Check your Battlefield: Bad Company stats online at launch to get this weapon unlock.
- Support (M60 Light Machinegun) - Sign up for the Battlefield Newsletter to recieve this weapon unlock.
- Recon (QBU88 Sniper Rifle) - Pre-order online or at any participating retailer to receive this weapon unlock.
- Specialist (UZI Submachine Gun) - Download and play the demo to receive this weapon unlock.
Yep, you’re pretty much going to have to jump through a few hoops online to snag each weapon. I guess that’s one way to sucker people into getting involved with your online community.
Is it better than paying? Maybe for some. Personally i think they should have both options. Im fat, overpaid and lazy, I dont mind paying if it means I dont have to do all that shit to get guns.
To unlock the Uzi using the demo, do we have to do anything in particular in the demo? I find the game “fairly OK” not spectacular, mind the lag. Army of Two is still unplayable online, I think Battlefield: Bad Company, may fare the same.
