OUCH!

Atari has released new screenshots for the forthcoming Hot PXL for PSP – slated for release in October 2007. The Atari Press describes HOT PXL as “a myriad of addictive, provocative and imaginative mini-games aimed at a techno-savvy, cultured crowd. Its rapid fire game play and original premise are inspired by classic games like Zaxxon, and feature cool challenges like crowd-surfing a group of pixilated concertgoers, or busting out tricks on a skateboard”. Basically what this means is that those of us too afraid to actually enter a mosh-pit and body surf will be able to do so on the PSP. Trust me, it is much safer that way – I had my nose broken once while moshing to GWAR. Yes, I know I said GWAR.

zSlide a French software company is the evil genius behind Hot PXL, and has intermingled 200 games with a heaping helping of Atari classics. Downloadable content and new mini-games will be available as well as podcasts, to incorporate into your PSP, and self-contained media managers for all of your favorite videos and music. Perfect of the ADD generation, and resembling a flash game, HOT PXL will either strike a harmonious chord with PSP gamers or sound like Sanjay on a very bad day. (Yes, I went there).
