Hot Chicks Wearing Mini-Skirts Can’t Sell ‘No More Heroes’

No More Heroes is a different kind of game and Japanese gamers were not jumping at the opportunity to try out something new on the Nintendo Wii. According to Kotaku, Japanese Wii owners are sticking to Wii Fit, Wii Sports and Super Mario Galaxy type games. They are probably right.
No More Heroes was developed by one of the guys who brought us the great game ‘Harvest Moon’. During a sales promotion for this new Wii title, the two primary developers were handing out rolls of toilet paper while several models wearing mini-skirts were standing by the window to try and promote sales. Unfortunately, sales for the game were sad and people simply were not interested in the new game. I can understand the toilet paper giveaway as a bit of a strange marketing technique that would ultimately fail, but hot chicks in mini-skirts is usually enough to spark some kind of sales. Thats a bummer. It always sucks to see promising original efforts go unrewarded by solid sales. Oh well, maybe it will fair better stateside.
if I were walking past a GameStop and saw some hot chicks in mini-skirts posing by the window to advertise a game, I’m not going to lie.. I’m headed in the store to see what the game is about. I guess you could just call me curious, but that kind of marketing works on me… at minimal it will get me in the store. Just don’t tell my wife I said that.

I had hopes that this game would be fairing well, that is quite unfortunate, I’m very hyped for this game.

Siege, I haven’t played the game myself, but people who have told me it’s a good game. The problem is that it’s radically different than all other Wii titles. I guess people are sticking with what they know when it comes to Wii titles. I hope it does well here.
