Hori Fighting Stick Wii… It’s Fun to Say, Isn’t It?

Video game peripheral company Hori is soon to have a new controller out, the Hori Fighting Stick Wii. The stick will debut in Japan this August and in the US on an unknown date. The fighting stick, tailor-made for arcade and fighting game lovers, costs $54.90 via import at PlayAsia.com. Hori previously created a number of fighting sticks for the PlayStation 3, but with Wii’s Virtual Console, old-school gamers should be excited about the prospect of playing Street Fighter II Turbo: Hyper Fighting, Virtua Fighter 2, or even NES Ice Hockey. It’ll be just like using an NES Advantage, but without the slow-motion feature (oh darn).
Also, it has a hilarious name. Imagine a conversation with your girlfriend on the phone.
Her: What you doing, honey?
You: Playing with my Hori Fighting Stick.

ehh, wow can it be any uglier? I dun think fanboys are that destperate… are they? The GC controller has joysticks (thought slightly uncomfortable) for a fraction of the price.
Rather than being ‘fanboys’, the Hori arcade sticks are pretty damn good sticks and I know quite a number of people who would sink a couple of bucks into one.
But it’s useless until they can actually get some decent fighters out. With the Neo-Geo system added to the Virtual Console, it’s really only a matter of time before it’ll be worth something more than a fancy way to play Budokai Tenkaichi.
