Homebrew Brings Portal to the DS, Finally

A version of Portal on DS makes so much sense. Provided it’s in 2D, the control scheme makes it a perfect fit for the platform. We haven’t heard any word that Valve’s in the process of bringing the game to the handheld, but leave it to the homebrew scene to make it happen — StillAliveDS brings portal gun-shootin’ action to the tip of your stylus. It’s very reminiscent of the flash game that came out not too long after Portal was first released, which is certainly a good thing. (Those 2D levels ended up being brought to the real Portal, don’t forget.)

You can download the game here. It includes a level editor and some sharing features, which is pretty impressive. Newcomers to DS homebrew are in luck, as DS Fanboy recently posted a guide which should help you to get started.

Now we just need a Wii version of the game.
