Hold On to Your Hat: Professional Bull Riding Enters the Video Game Corral

Crave Entertainment and Professional Bull Riders, Inc. (PBR) partnered with D2C Games are saddling up to give video gamers a shot at the fastest growing sport in the U.S. professional bull riding. The Toughest Sport on Dirt lets you play as a pro bull rider or as a bull in multiple events leading up to the World Finals.
“PBR has a dedicated fan base and the sport is poised to become the next NASCAR,” said Rob Dyer, President of Crave Entertainment. “Capturing the intricacies, adrenaline rushes and excitement of professional bull riding is paramount to the success of the games.”
“PBR is the fastest growing sport in the U.S. with nearly 20 million fans watching or attending PBR events in 2006,” said Sean Gleason, CMO of PBR. “We are thrilled to partner with Crave Entertainment and D2C Games to bring the sport of professional bull riding to our millions of loyal fans.”
Players can customize their own bull rider or rampaging bull to compete in 10 three-round events in multiple locations, including New York, Anaheim, and Atlanta. You can also choose to play or compete against one of the game’s featured top riders, including Guilherme Marchi, Justin McBride, and Chris Shivers.
“D2C Games is focused on capturing the essence of the sport while delivering a video game that is easy to pick up and very fun to play,” said Scott Orr, CEO and Founder of D2C Games, Inc. “PBR fans for the first time will be able to experience the most exciting eight seconds in sports.”
Toughest Sport on Dirt will be available on the Wii,Xbox 360 and PS2 console with downloads also available for the PSP and the PC. Gamers can experience the wild screams of fans and bone crunching falls when Toughest Sport on Dirt comes out in October 2008, just in time for the World Finals. And you thought that slick race car was hard to control.

Not so fresh of an idea – been done already with Sierra Sports as Professional Bull Rider back in 2000 with the same exact feature – play as the rider or as the bull. Interesting…

Sierra Sports already made this game years ago and they did a darn good job. These guys should just re-package it. I bet Sierra would sell it to them cheap!
Sounds like the same features and everything. Smells like a re-ride to me! I guess that bull just didn’t get it done! LOL
sierra sports version had terrible graphics and the game was very unrealistic, trust me i may know because i am a bull rider, this new game for the new consoles will most likely have really good graphics and be more realistic plus the riders, bulls, and events will be updated it will probably be the best video game ever, because when the sierra sports version came out it was but it got old fast i believe this game will be much better
i went to PBR the last few years and i loved it. the only thing is there neads to be more country music thats why the people love it.
This is going to be the greatest game ever rodeo is the greatest sport ever and i know alot about it and i used to get on bulls myself i have always dreamed of a game even though i have the sierra sports version it is fun but kinda crappy i know this game will be a hit
