heavenly sword

For those of you out there who have played Heavenly Sword, not only am I jealous of you but I am even more envious of you now that I have heard some news regarding everyone’s favorite sword wielding redhead (no, not Red Sonya – Nariko!). For those of you, who like me, have yet to play the game you may not want to read any further as this post will contain not only one, but two spoilers. Therefore, proceed at your own risk.Apparently, as we are all aware with the storyline in the game, the person who wields the sword basically gets their life consumed by it and eventually dies. This may sound like bad news for fans of the game, but it isn’t. According to a recent interview with Ninja Theory’s Nina Kristensen, things are not always as they seem.

The beautiful thing about inventing a universe like that of Heavenly Sword is that you get to make up all the rules and happily, in the Heavenly Sword universe, just because you’re dead, it doesn’t mean your life is over ;)

…We haven’t announced anything as yet but I can confirm that when we wrote the original story we did write it as a trilogy…

Hmmmm…. I guess this means that we can either see Nariko in the next Heavenly Sword as either a spirit, a flesh and bone woman again, or maybe in flashbacks. Who knows, all I care about is the fact that they will be making new installments of the game – and for those who enjoyed the original… this is very good news indeed.

Oh, I so love their line about making up rules as they go along. Fantastic. I’m now the King of England. I want all riches…oh, wait, sorry, someone has just informed me that that’s bloody stupid…

If this is done badly, and my thoughts are heavenly leaned (get it?) as this being the case, so long continuity. At least it’ll make Zero Punctuation hella funny when it comes to it.

    OH, YES, OH GOD YES
I have been waiting to hear this since I finished the game(which was unfortunately 8 hours after I put it in the system) Make the sequel twice or three times as long please.

Heavenly Sword is an awesome game though, just maybe a rental for most people

Well, I loved Heavenly Sword. The game was almost criminally short (more like 5 hours in my experience), but it was an amazing 5 hours. The cinematic value of this game just cannot be discounted, and it’s the one thing I rarely see mentioned in reviews.

I would certainly be interested in sequels.

    i agree ron
