Head Sony PR Rep Dave Karraker Leaving SCEA

Sony’s lead PR rep, or “spin doctor” as some might call him, Dave Karraker, has announced that he’ll be parting ways with Sony Computer Entertainment America. Karraker will be moving to a PR position with Skyy Spirits, a San Francisco-based vodka company. You just can’t make this stuff up folks.
While it might seem like a joke that Karraker is leaving Sony for, well, booze, but it’s actually a natural career progression for him as he previously worked for Stoli, another vodka company. In a statement about his departure, Karraker said, “I have enjoyed immensely my tenure at SCEA and think the company and its brands are very well positioned to have an exceptional holiday and a very bright future.” Sounds just like a line I used once.

Well, I guess we all saw this coming. I mean, with the amount of PR nightmares Sony recently had (did we all forget the infamous Goat sacrifice incident?), Dave probably spent most of his days with a bottle of Skyy in his hand.
