If certain qualifications are met, Harmonix could be due to receive a bonus of $208.7 million from MTV Games, which is owned by Viacom. Harmonix was acquired by MTV Games in 2006 for $175 million and, according to Viacom’s Form 10-K statement, incentives were worked into the contract.
“In addition, to the extent financial results exceed specific contractual targets against a defined gross profit metric through 2008, former Harmonix shareholders will be eligible for incremental earn-out payments with respect to the years ended December 31, 2007 and December 31, 2008,” the form read, according to GamesIndustry.biz.
This is a pretty significant amount, but Rock Band certainly has the potential to go on to become as big as – if not bigger than – Guitar Hero. And we all know how that has gone.

i had a manager who one time couldn’t speak properly, everytime he meant to say bonus he said boner and every time he meant to say peanuts he said peanus.
MTV gave Harmonix a HUGE BONER
