E3 2007 : Harmonix Debuts Rock Band On Stage

After kicking off the Microsoft Press Event with five Halo fans from Libertyville, Illinois playing the Halo 3 theme on two guitars, a violin, a drummer, and an electric fiddle, the crew from Harmonix took the stage. With Peter Moore standing in on guitar and some vocals, they play through a small bit of the game. Moore even managed to accidentally pause the game while playing the guitar.
While the demo was brief, Moore did mention that in addition to the songs we’ve seen so far (Black Sabbath, Nirvana, The Strokes, etc..), there will be more songs debuted later this week. If you got a chance to see the video footage that was up recently before it was pulled, you’ve got a good idea what to expect. If not, you can imagine Guitar Hero with three lines of fret boards, one each for bass, guitar, and drums. There’s also a vocal line across the top of the screen.
Moore also mentioned that every game they’re showing this year is available between now and the end of 2007, so you can look for Rock Band before Christmas.
