ECA’s Hal Halpin discussed Manhunt 2 and AO Ratings on the Electronic Gaming Monthly (EGM) Podcast. According to GamePolitics, Halpin talks about the AO rating for Manhunt 2 and other titles being the kiss of death because retailers will refuse to stock it, even if they carry unrated movies. Bringing an NC-17 rating into the games system is also discussed to differentiate AO rated games from X rated films. Industry console makers don’t necessarily want their machines to be seen only as toys, but they sure don’t want them to be seen as vehicles for porn either. The interview is about 22 minutes into the podcast check it out along with the GamePolitics article.
