Halo 3 To Possibly Cause GTA IV Delay

We all know that Halo 3’s release later this year will reach monumental sales and will cause many a blue and white collar worker to suddenly be “sick”, but will it actually cause another AAA title to be delayed? According to analyst Michael Pachter, it actually may.
As of now, Halo 3 is set to be released on September 25, while GTA IV has a release date of October 16.
“We believe that a two-week delay would provide a reasonable gap between the launch of Halo 3 and the launch of GTA IV, and would actually help sales of both games. In addition, a delay of the ‘normal’ SKU for GTA IV by two or three weeks could allow Take-Two to maximize revenues from the $89.99 Collector’s Edition of the game by shipping that SKU on October 17, and to increase overall profitability.”
I personally don’t think Take-Two should allow the Halo 3 launch to influence it’s launch of GTA IV. I mean, we all know the majority of Xbox 360 owners will pick up Halo 3, but what about the PS3 owners or the 360 owners who don’t eat/sleep/breath Halo? I know I would want to get my hands on GTA IV as soon as possible and hope Take Two knows the sooner they get GTA IV out, the happier we’ll all be.
I agree with your release sooner idea, but it makes much better sense from a buisness point of view to wait a few weeks after Halo-3. Then all those kids won’t have to explain to mom why they should spend yet another 80 bucks on a game, when she just bought one 2 days earlier.

x-box controler it would make it heaps easyer on people
with an x-box and halo should stay were it origonaly began

They can release PS3 version sooner as there is not any clash with any game on PS3
if R* release GTAIV after OCT 16th they are stupid!! We’ve waited LONG enough for it now, and plus some of the other games coming out look VERY good (heavenly sword – Warhawk – Drakes Fortune etc..) and they’re gonna have a hard time competing. And as for Halo 3?? Give me a break, for one the game is ONLY on the Xbox3shitty for two it looks and plays like shit and for 3 it’s not like the sales are going to hinder GTA IV. If 3shitty owners have to choose between halo and GTA we ALL kow it’s gonna be R* ALL THE WAY!!
i know halo is popular, but i highly doubt that it is more popular than the GTA series, they could release this game on the same day as Halo 3 and it would kill Halo
i love halo and i love GTA so i dnt care, i get Halo 3, play the shit out of it and then get GTA and play the shit out of it too
GTA is 50 times as good as halo and lots more people like GTA because its not just on xbox
