Halo 3: 4 Player Online Co-Op Confirmed In Amsterdam
By William on Tuesday, July 31st, 2007 at 2:20 PM PST In Bungie, Halo, Microsoft, Microsoft

The sadness we all experienced when we thought cooperative online play may not happen in Halo 3 has just been officially erased. During an official conference in Amsterdam, Microsoft and Bungie representatives confirmed that Halo 3 will definitely feature four player co-op play on Xbox Live. The report is not in English as of yet, so you have to trust a secondary source that translated it, but everything looks like it’s on the up and up. Let’s just hope the Bungie and Microsoft guys weren’t smoking something and take back their statements later. I have dropped an image in after the article break that further proves the story.
During a official press conference in Amsterdam, Microsoft and Bungie confirmed that Halo 3 will feature 4 player cooperative play on Xbox Live. More info coming soon.
“In Halo 3, the third installment of the legendary epic, the war has come to a climax; the Flood continues to grow in numbers and strength, the armies of Earth are scattered and decimated, and the Covenant threatens to activate the Halo, effectively destroying all life in the galaxy. Master Chief’s mission is to stop the Covenant, destroy the impending Flood threat and, ultimately, save mankind.”
Worldwide availability starting september 25, 2007

Thats great to keep the Halo ways. My only problem with most incidents is you need 4 people with Xbox live gold accounts. I hate games that require this.
If i have a friend over to play online he needs a Xbox live gold account? To me thats the ultimate cheapness in a game. Its not like he is stealing anything. I have paid for my Xbox live Gold account. If this is how Halo 3 4 player online will work its not worth it to me.
This sounds great, but it’ll be even greater if there’s a 4-player Co-op offline. Sometimes I’d like to play campaign with all my friends offline.

So what, a 10 minute job?
I need to find a friend with a 360 stat! Failing that, pressurize one to get it and Halo 3.
Droids, I haven’t heard much about that, but I can only assume there would be.
This has been informally confirmed over on the NeoGAF forums by Luke Smith and Tyson Green of Bungie Studios. Looks like there’ll be more on the bungie.net site regarding this soon, if I’ve interpreted Luke’s post correctly.

Offline co-op has been confirmed already. They have trying to make it to where they can send all the information of a level and what each player is doing, without lag. The game is two player co-op on one system, and you can system link it for four player co-op.
awesomesex

@ the Lord
I’m 36 and married with 2 young children. Halo IS the only sex I get. LOL.
somewhat, I’m 30 and sorta single and the same goes for me. People talk smack now about Halo 3, but between September and December this year, what do you think everyone will be playing?
”between September and December this year, what do you think everyone will be playing?”
ummm, your mom ?
Sorry, thought I was on XBox Live there for a minute. You’re right Will, there will be a lot of silenced naysayers this fall. There will always be haters though, but that goes for anything.
Ah well that too bad – I don’t see why Halo 2 has 4 player multiplayer on the same console, but Halo 3 can’t have 4 players on campaign. I’m not buying two 360s just for that.
