Half-Life: Black Mesa Trailer Released

By Jonathan on Monday, December 1st, 2008 at 12:56 PM PST In Gamer Life, Games, Half-Life, Videos

This new trailer has been making the rounds on the internet today, and if I didn’t know better, I would swear this came directly from Valve. Instead this comes from the team behind Black Mesa, a full-conversion mod using Half-Life 2’s Source engine to recreate the original Half-Life. Sure, Valve released their own Half-Life: Source long ago, but that wasn’t exactly the modern re-imagining that fans were hoping for (more of a cut/paste job). But that’s exactly what’s fueling the developers of this mod to give the first game a true update. From the looks of this trailer, I’d say they’re definitely on the right track.

Its been on the right track for sooooo long now. Its an amazing job for such a small group of people, I just wish the release would come sooner.

After the release I hope Valve buys it from the guys (or employs them) to make their hard earned work worth their time.

I would gladly pay the full $49.99 ( average price of new PC games ) for this.
