Mythic is reporting over 500,000 subscription over the first week of Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning. So far WAR is only available in North America, Europe and the Oceanic territories but you wouldn’t guess by the numbers. They have a good solid start. If the WAR team can keep the bugs fixed and restore the cut content as promised, they should be able to keep their numbers formidable.

I know Warhammer has been around longer than Warcraft, but WAR < WoW.
What a well informed, enlightened decision, the internet is now truly a better place…
I never played a MMORPG – but Warhammer is something friends played since childhood, now we are planniny to start a weekly playtogether in warhammer online (one room, 4-5 people … not the alone sitting in the dark kind of playing) – and the others are NOT onlinegamers.I guess Warhammer online will bring lots of new gamers to the genre … and if they succeed, i guess they might be able to take a lot of wow subscriptions away (maybe even be more successfull). I only looked over a friends shoulder when he played and the game looked pretty solid (for a new release).
Still … to make a hardcore rpg gamer (pen&paper) happy they need more customization options !
Played it yesterday for 1-2 hours … i have nothing to compare, but my first impression is pretty good. I won´t buy the game for playing solo – far to dangerous !
It’s a WoW clone which means anyone from the age of 1 can play it. So sad.
