Activision has just announced in a press release that real-life guitar hero Slash will appear in the upcoming Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock as a boss battle character as well as provide an original track for the game. The former guitarist for Guns N’ Roses will also be represented in the game by the band’s hit song, “Welcome to the Jungle,” a favored anthem of rock fans and strippers alike. Other tracks in the game will come from such artists as The Rolling Stones, Beastie Boys, Muse, and Pearl Jam. The game is slated to be released this fall.

YES! slash is the man. its good to see some real people in the game, will the songs be real or just knock offs of tunes like GH2? either guitar hero is realy fun, check store shelves, thats usualy sold out, unlike the PS3. GH is awesome fun.

Axl Rose & Slash rules 4 ever
Yeah the songs will be real studio recorded songs by the artists. I beleive Hendrix makes and appearance in the game as well as Slash. I heard maybe even Dio, Zakk Wylde or even Dimebag. Hope that helps. Cheers.
