Guitar Hero IV Drum Kit Prototype

Activision is taking a cue from Rock Band and will be including vocal, bass and drums in Guitar Hero IV. Joystiq has pics of the drum kit prototype for the game from the latest issue of Game Informer. The kit comes close to a midi compatible professional drum kit. It features a bass pedal and three snares and two dedicated symbol pads.
At this time, there’s no word on whether the kits for the two games will be compatible. However I doubt they will be considering the near open warfare between Activision and Harmonix over guitar compatibility; and the guitar peripherals were almost identical in design.

What, no foot pedal?
Um Im sure the bass pedal they listed there is the foot pedal..
There is a foot pedal. I have the Game Informer they got this out of and it shows a pedal.
Man, I hate how these people want my money… I mean, GH4 will be sick, but now I’m gonna have to pay another 200 for a NEW drum set, but if they had only kept it simple with 4 pads and a pedal then it’d be easy and I could use my Rock Band one.
people don’t want new games. i am starting to hate modern gamers. they only want revisions of the same old stuff.
STOP WITH GUITAR HERO…This is just milking a dry franchise.
If there is a foot pedal, that means there are six buttons, instead of five. Why can’t they make one game, or at least have both use the same stuff?
I just want one set of instruments. Come on Activision and Harmonix, get your act together.
Any talks of this one have online functionality for the Wii? Meaning DLC?
Like I told Chris yesterday when we were discussing the kit: It looks like an “electronic” drum kit I bought my little brother at a 5 and 10 when he was 2 years old.
Typically I hate posting magazine scans but this seems to be the only image at large at the moment. There is a bass pedal on it that was cropped out in that image.
