MaroonWarrior71 look at all the comments and search google for guitar hero pc problem, and tell me its a good port... Porting good means high compatibility, wich this useless crap obviously does not have.
But it takes brains to see the big picture here, i wont hold it against you.

I have the problem of lag..Lag every 2-3 notes. Funny thing is the game is running at a constant 60fps  .

My Pc Spec.
Vista 64bit Sp1
Intel q9450 @ 3.2ghz
4gig of ddr2 @ 1066
Hd3870 825/1250
All drivers up to date.

No virus or spy ware/ no anti-virus software running in the back ground.
CPU at ide Is 2-3%

When i play i only see 10-15% of my CPU been used!!
Also GPU not going over 30% ?? why is that??

I am using the wireless 360 Guitar/Game patch 1.31.

My pc plays crysis better then this shit game..
GH3 = Crappy PORT..Wast of money

Dose the game need some special serves running to play with no lag???

wow I don't know why people are whining..I have a pentium 4, 3 gig single core with hyper threading 1 gig of ram (yes only 1 gig) and its old ddram not even ddr2 . I am running an ati 2600 512 meg vid card with a ac97 audio card and guess what..runs absolutly flawless..couldn't be any happier..oh btw am running it at max resolution and highest graphic settings as well as my card options being set to 4X antialiasing and 4 times anistropic filtering..as well I am not running a raid drive on the machine either am running a simple old seagate ide drive..nothing special right..and guess what ruuns beautifully..not one hickup..for those who are having probs..I would bet my life you either have a pc thats not etup well or are one who downloads so much that they have many worms in there system..and please don't go giving me shit saying my system is clean I scan it and its clean..fact theres no such freakin thing ok..if you have internet and have been online for a month..theres bound to be something thats not supposed to be there..there is no software on the planet capable of keeping windows totally clean and furthermore theres no software out there that will detect everything..period...and before anyone calls me a fucktard I have a 12 year degree in computer science..so please don't give me this shit about its bad game coding..cause it is an excellent..and my theory is this..if it were a bug it would be the same on all machines..if its something that happens on a few and not all..well theres a reason for it and thats cause theres something causing it within those systems..people are lazy they would rather blame the game company instead of looking for the actual reason..either that or there retards who don't know what to look for

vista home premiun 32bit
2GB ram
1.9GHz AMD Turion
about 256MB video memory (ATI Radeon Xpress 1250)

and i only have slight lag. and thats also counting my 2 anti-viruses in the background, and nearly full hard drive. just slight lag.

the only thing i feel comfortable flaming aspyr for is the keyboard controls. most keyboards have a 'key limit' which limits the amount of keys that it can register at one time. the default is 3 at a time, so how do they expect you to do chords? or maybe my keyboard just sucks

I have a ThinkPad Laptop with a 2.1Ghz Dual Core processor, 2GB ram, XP, NVIDIA Quadro graphics card (very basic graphics card - but a discrete one on my laptop) and the game seems to run fine. Sure, its not as nice as a PS3 in the sense that you can tell that the frame rate isn't as fast, but since the game never pauses you can play it just fine.

I've been having issues with my GH3 "lagging". I thought for sure it was a video card issue, so I upgraded my Nvidia7600GS to a AMD4670. Though I am now able to put graphics on high and things look great, it still lags no matter what quality it is set at. And by "lag", I mean the fretboard jumps every couple seconds, it's small, but very noticeable on a rhythm based game.

My system is older, but I would assume should be able to handle it - NForce4 mobo, AMD4600x2 processor (2.4ghz dual core), 74GB WD Raptor, 2 gigs of RAM, and now a AMD4670 graphics card. I have the newest version of AMD dual core optimizer.

I checked task manager, and it seems that it wants to run on only one core, running at 100% no matter what. I checked on my laptop (Dell Vostro1500 - Core2Duo@1.6Ghz with 2GB RAM and 8400GS graphics), and not only does it not lag, but the game spreads CPU usage easily over both cores.

I've messed with both the priority and affinity of the game in TaskManager. Changing priority does help, but changing the affinity can give interesting results. It maxes out the second Core by default, but if I switch it to only the first, and then open both cores, it sometimes magically spreads itself over both cores. When spread over both cores, it works amazingly - no lag on the fretboard whatsoever.

I have also noticed that sometimes I have better luck when the Xplorer guitar is not plugged in. I have heard some fixes that require a PCI USB adapter, but I'll try my best to avoid adding another card.

Has anyone else noticed the dual-core CPU issue, and came up with a fix better than just messing with Affinity's?

Well I just bought the last GH3 in the state from Best Buy for $60 and I am very pleased with it. I'm running on a Vista laptop with 2GB ram and a decent gfx card, and GH3 runs impressively. Aside from occasional very slight lags here and there, nothing else seems problematic, besides, I'm pretty sure the lag comes from a background process such as McAfee.

None of the patches worked for me however (1.1, 1.3, 1.31), so I checked the initially installed GH3.exe and it seems the CD now comes with the pre-patched exe. My version says it's 1.3.68131.

Ok I'm going to be getting a new laptop here in a few days. Here are the specs:

OS: Vista Home Premium x64
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo Processor P8600 (2.4 GHz)
Video Card: 512MB NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT

So the main issue: It said on the back that it won't 'support' 64bit Vista. 'Support' and 'not run' are different things. Will it still work?

Just use some common sense Set the graphics to low turn off physics {what physics ?}turn off crowd {very relistic lol} keep the front row cam ON. Trust me your not losing much with the setting on low or off not much of a graphical game seems to be more cpu and ram dependent. uses 1.25 gb of ram when running. HOPE THIS HELPS SOME PEOPLE {SP3 for windows XP} Seemed to help my system. Good luck all

I have fixed the lag on my PC
Indeed in GH3 there were jumps and in medium+ it was unplayable.

Here's how I improved it:
After you start the game , press cntrl-alt-delete ,
start task manager
go to processes
Change the priority of the game to 'High'

This will give more CPU power to the game , it will run better.
In addition , set Video configuration to minimum.

I also built my pc myself, It's not top of the line but it should be able to put colored dots on the screen without lagging. I agree it's probably a code problem, though what confuses me is why they haven't made a patch to fix it yet yet. I mean this game is giving Aspyr such a bad name. It's not like they haven't gotten enough money from us to put together a team to fix it.
this really sucks because I love this game and am not willing to by some game console to fix it

Game works perfectly fine here, specs:
Intel Q6600 @ 3.6ghz
2x 2900XT (CrossfireX)
Gigabyte P35 DS4
2x seagate barracuda 320GB (Raid-0)
Windows XP 64bit

It's needed to modify the installer, else it won't install on xp 64bit, but when that's done it works fine.
Playing @ 1920x1200 everything @ high.
No lagg or whatsoever, it's better than on xbox360 (super smooth and better graphics)
