According to the Guitar Hero official website, Xbox 360 users may FINALLY get the downloadable content that has been promised to them for what has seemed like ages. In an unofficial announcement posted in the forums on guitarherogame.com, an employee of Red Octane calling himself “Rodth” commented that we can finally expect XBL to show us some love in the latter part of July. “First off, thanks for your feedbacks and concerns on the future of GH. While nothing has been formally announced, look for something to come down the pipeline around the July time frame. As frustrating as it is, that is all the information I can share with you at this time.” Says Rodth.

Hmmmm… me thinks that maybe this could be the Eighties Edition? Remember back in May when we suspected that this might happen due to Microsoft not allowing expansion packs – only XBL content instead? If this turns out to be true, we are in the wrong business – we should instead get out our divining rods and start dowsing for water, hidden treasure, and Jimmy Hoffa’s body.
