Guitar Hero Expansion Pack 80’s Edition To Be Released in July

Lovely Ladies

Ahhhhh the 80’s…. huge hair, spandex pants, hair-bands, Union Jack muscle shirts, androgynous men, androgynous women, Aqua Net, and the obligatory high-top Reeboks. What is there not to love? If like me, you grew up in the 80’s listening to bands with lead singers who looked more like a woman than you did (I mean YOU Brett Michaels), you will be pumped on July 17th when the “Guitar Hero 2 Rocks the 80’s Expansion Pack” for PS2 is released. Better start saving for your carpal tunnel surgery now folks.

If, however you want to purchase this guilty pleasure for your 360, join me on July 17th while I poke my Bill Gates voodoo-doll in the rear with a car-key. Why do you ask? Microsoft has this Hilteresque rule about expansion packs not being available for the 360 as standalone releases. Most likely if it is available for the 360, it will be through X-Box Live only as a paid subscription service. We all know Bill is doing this because he needs the money.

The song list has not been released as of yet, but it will most likely have your 80’s staple bands. Personally I am looking forward to some Slaughter, White Lion, Britny Fox, Winger, W.A.S.P., Great White, and Bon Jovi. KIDDING. Guitar Hero 2 could use a little more umph to the roster though in my opinion. Throw in extra helpings of Van Halen, AC/DC, Metallica, Tesla, Dokken, GNR, and maybe a little Judas Priest or Scorpions for some power-chord fun. What they could use less of is Lynyrd Skynyrd and that band from Canada… oh, what was their name…. oh yeah…. RUSH.

Regardless of what the content is, millions of Guitar Hero addicts like me will either pre-order or be camped out in front of the store waiting for it to open. Let’s just hope that the release date doesn’t change. So dust off your parachute pants and spiked leather bracelets – put on your Thriller jacket, grab that flying-v controller and rock on!

Do they actually think that “I Ran” is going to be hard to do? Or “Holy Diver” for that matter, same chords over and over. LOL. It should be a lot of fun though!
