Guitar Hero Air Guitar Rocker: No Console or Dignity Required

It’s a fact of every trade show: there’s going to be some great things on display, but there’s also going to be some…questionable things on display. Take this Guitar Hero Air Guitar Rocker, for example. It’s one of those sorts of devices that you’ll most likely be finding in the back of a Sharper image one day. Essentially, it’s a belt buckle connected to a miniature amp, along with several picks. When the picks are moved or “strummed” in front of the belt buckle, the amp emits the next note in a pre-determined song. How fast you strum determines the tempo, so the idea is to match the beat of the actual song. The Air Guitar Rocker comes with several songs from the likes of Black Sabbath, Van Halen, Boston, Motorhead, and Deep Purple, along with five original freestyle tracks. Armed with these tools, which cost $29.99, you’ll be fully prepared to look like one huge dork. I mean, just look at the guy in video above. You’d think they could at least get someone who can pretend to play a guitar without looking like a giant tool.
