GTA4 Patch 1.0.1 Live

Rockstar has the new Grand Theft Auto IV patch 1.0.1 up. There’s no official patch notes to go by at this time. However, word out is that it will most effect multiplayer. Some gamers are happy to now be able to get online with their PS3. However, there still some complaints with type 2 freeze. It seems there are a lot of mixed results being reported, but really if you want to play online with your PS3, you have no choice but to patch.

I exchanged the game a 4th time (for Special Edition this time around) and I installed 1.01 just a few moments ago. Three tries to get the game to run more than 20 seconds or so before the video freezes and the audio continues on in the background and I was unsuccessful. The patch did nothing for me. Rockstar/Take-Two/Sony, please fix this continuing crash problem with your universally acclaimed beloved cash cow. Some of us would like to be able to play the game instead of watching recordings of it on YouTube. Patch 1.01. Waiting anxiously (and none too patiently, I might add) for 1.02. Address the critical stop before the minor inconvenience = sucking up opportunities, thank you ever so much. PS3 60GB Release Model. (And honestly, up until now, I’ve never ever had a single problem with my PS3)
my ps3 has been fine until gta 4 came along
I really want to play the game but I cant
and the patch didnt help AT ALL!!!!!!!!
So please If you anything about fixing it

this is weird considering i’ve been playing GTA4 all week on my 60gb ps3
my 80 gig ps3 had no probs at first with gta4 then had loading probs… disconnected and left disconnected the ethernet cable, and loaded 100% of the time with no deleting or reinstalling of anything but no online…. downloaded 1.01 patch today and everthings is all good back to normal…… online and everything
The xbox has been freezing all the time for a lot of people but i never read about it i know it happened to me all the people i know with ps3s never had a problem before if i google problems with xbox ps3 problems show up whats that all about,
What about the 360 fix???

okay i have GTA 4 on the 360, and i have an elite. first i installed the GTA software then loaded the game. As the opening cutscene plays i sit back and enjoy the graphics. When i finally start the first mission,driving my cousin home, i reach the street AND then the worst happens the game FREEZES. i am both shocked and highly pissed that a game such stature would have this setbacks.

i havent gotten it yet because of the problems ive read about. i have a 60gb launch ps3 and i hear people with those that dont have a problem and people with those that do have a problem, should i risk it?

and play
I had alot of problems when i first got the game and now after playing for over 3 hours non stop today i have had none…..

GTA4 on XBOX360 has blurry graphics and very low frame rate
on PS3 it is better – but not as good as it should be
GTA4 should not have gone on sale in this condition
R* need to add an option to turn off gimmicks and increase frame rate
unfortunately we have all paid already … which was a mistake
IMO it is a sad day for video gaming
Not a single problem with my 60gb ps3 model
no pop-ins like my 360 version
not a single freeze
online work fine accept for some times it states
connection with one or more players lost possibly cause i use wifi
