GTA IV Apparently Freezing Up; Rockstar Stumped as to Why

Apparently some internet forums are abuzz with the news that GTA IV has been freezing up for some people. The game seems to lock up on the initial intro scene, forcing many people to unplug their console just to shut it off (personally, I booted up the game last night and didn’t have any problems at all). At first it was believed this was isolated to only specific models of the PS3, but a Rockstar rep let slip that it seems to be showing up on all types of systems. Unfortunately, at this time, Rockstar is completely stumped. Their techs are currently working hard on finding the cause of the lock-ups to come up a solution. I blame Arnold Schwarzenegger’s portrayal of Mr. Freeze in Batman and Robin, but then again, I blame nearly everything on that “movie.”

My copy worked fine, but a friend of mine has a copy of GTA IV for the 360 and his game got a “Disc Error” notice after he completed the first mission. He’s going to GameStop to get a new disc today.
Its probably his console, my friend has that problem with tons of games. He can get it to work if he keeps on restarting the game
Mine worked fine last night on my 360. I heard on G4 last night though that the game lockup has something to do with the installation I guess you have to do on the PS3. The solution they said was to delete the original installation from your PS3 and install it again.

Just calm down, put the pill in your mouth and swallow. Everything will be fine in a few minutes. Stupid Troll, flaming for fun is one thing, but your abusive language and rampant stupidity is offensive to most of us.
Ok- Now you will reply with your typical nonsense venom. I have all shields on full, let it rip.
Come on now, you know you can’t help but reply… there’s nothing else to do in your mother’s basement.
