Grand Theft Auto IV Controls Revealed

I haven’t seen any great news on Grand Theft Auto IV this weekend, but I did discover the control layout for GTA IV on the Sony PS3 and Xbox 360. There have also been some rumors lately that Rockstar may be seeking a deal with Sony to become PS3 exclusive for the future, but I have no confirmation of that.

Why do developers keep putting the FIRE button on the R2 trigger on the PS3?
The PS3’s fire button is R1. You don’t need a pressure sensitive fire button and the PS3 is the only controller that allows you to keep your actual trigger finger on the shoulder button and still use a different finger for the secondary (R2) function.
Mistakes like this make this game look like a port to the PS3. I hope the PS3 image is wrong.
@Bob: hopefully they will have the option to customize controls. I am not sure about that feature at this point.

i think this is not 100% legit, but probably accurate. i figure this because i thought you had to pull out your mobile phone to call a taxi. and the fire button is on r2 because a real gun uses a trigger… makes sense to me
well uhhhhhhhh ok cars have a gas petal r2 is like gas petal guns have triggers r2 is like a trigger
but ive been playing rainbow 6 vegas 2 and love the game but i hate holding l2 to stay in cover pisses me off finger starts hurting 
and then i break my controler 
so i hope gta 4 is not like this because ive already preordered it and im so excited

The fire button will probably be R2 even though you won’t need the pressure sensitive trigger because L2 will HAVE to be aiming because if you hold L2 all the way, it will lock on to a target but if you hold L2 half way, it will switch to free aim instead, therefore R2 will most likely be the fire button or else aiming would be L2 and firing would be R1 which would feel weird..

the reason why R2 is the fire/attack button is because the R2 and L2 buttons were sonys poor attempt at “trigger buttons” that were supposed to “give the feeling that you are pulling a trigger in shotting games”.
If sony didn’t make a half assed set of trigger buttons and made better trigger buttons like the xbox pad it wouldn’t feel so crap.

How do you dial on the cell phone? Do you have to be logged into Live to dial numbers?

u enter codes with the cell phone u have to call certain numbers
