GoldenEye Rumors are “Flattering” to Microsoft

Well, this is a new one.
In addition to offering up the usual spew of, “We don’t comment on rumors and speculation,” to Eurogamer, a Microsoft spokesperson also stated, “While the games community’s response to this rumour is extremely flattering, we don’t have anything to announce at this time.”
That’s not even close to a confirmation that the game might still be coming, but it sure does sound a whole lot better than a “no comment.”
GoldenEye for Xbox Live Arcade was apparently canned after months of work by Rare when Nintendo and Microsoft were unable to make a financial agreement behind the scenes.
Maybe there is still some hope.
