Going for the Record “Largest Gathering of Games Characters”

Today the team from the Guinness Book of World’s Records Gaming Edition invited gamers out to attempt to set a record for the “Largest Gathering of Games Characters.” Although I would have thought Tokyo would have been a more logical choice, costumed gaming enthusiasts gathered at London’s Millennium Bridge dressed as their favorite games characters. The Shiny Shiny team captured the moment on the video featured below.

I’ve never seen so many Marios in one place. There’s no official word I can find as to whether they managed to set a record, but it looks as though everyone had a lot of cosplay fun.

I think she said Crash Bandicoot twice…

  2. Dragon says:

Well there were two of him.

This is also a rather pathetic turn out, take a trip to any game/anime convention and there by 5 or even 6 times the number of folk there dress as random game characters.

  3. Casey says:

80? that’s it? That’s in the world book of records? Sad.

  4. Strikerzex911 says:

LMAO she said crash bandicoot twice.

  5. Daniel says:

That Yoshi looked horrific! And the Marios there accounted for pretty much 20% of the final outcome. I think if this record is set, it should be for INDIVIDUAL characters, or else I can get 80 people who dress like Mario and one pathetic looking Yoshi and they’ll have the official record.
