simon GOG.com Gets Adventurous with Simon from Adventure Soft

Good Old Games (GOG.com) continues to add titles at a feverish pace bringing poin-and-click adventure games to its line up. CD Projekt has sealed an agreement with Adventure Soft which adds Simon the Sorcerer along with several other adventure titles. As with all GOG.com games, these titles are priced right, Windows XP and Vista compatible and completely DRM free.

I’ve been waiting for GOG.com to get some classic point-and-click adventures. My wife is especially fond of them and has been disappointed in all the casual seek and find adventures that are proliferating these days. The full list of Adventure Soft games is outlined after the break.

Here are the classic point-and-click Adventure Soft titles heading to GOG.com’s game catalog:

  • Simon the Sorcerer – An ordinary boy discovers an old book of spells and gets sucked through a portal into a realm of magic. Simon finds he’s been drafted to rescue the wizard Calypso from the evil sorcerer Sordid.
  • Simon the Sorcerer II: The Lion, the Wizard and the Wardrobe – Sordid is back from the dead and intent of exacting revenge on Simon. Work with Masala the lion and power up the wardrobe to defeat Sordid at his Fortress of Doom and get back home.
  • The Feeble Files – This science fiction comedy will have players solving puzzles as Feeble the alien or SAM, a robot who’s hobby is genocide.
  • Port Royale 2 – As you might expect this title takes the player back to the 17th century Caribbean. Build a business or become a pirate the choice is yours.
  • Waxworks – This horrifying adventure will take the player on dungeon crawls through time and space to rid their family of a witches curse. This game is the spiritual successor to Elvira II: The Jaws of Cerberus.

Oh my God Simon is a classic. I just downloaded Simon 2 a short time ago, it’s not quite like the first but still very, very good. And the GOG version is XP-friendly so it’s easier than ever!
