Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter 2

Ubisoft and Red Storm have issued a new PC demo for Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter 2. The demo contains 1 map (Calavera), 2 modes (Recon vs Assault & Team Deathmatch) and some improvements from the beta version which were possible thanks to the feedback from all the beta testers.

Here are some examples:

  • Redefined game balance : weapon & ammunition stock with, for instance : Less Grenades in the inventory & less power for the grenade launcher.
  • Increased Recon ability for the Ghosts with improved sound management, for instance: The Ghosts are more silent when crouched or prone.
  • Additional level of polish : reworked the most frequent issues for game experience, for instance : annoying “enemy down” voices decreased, ADATS status on map made clearer, end round alarm sound for the “money time” (10 round last seconds), increased efficiency of the mounted weapons.

If you are unfamiliar with Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter 2, here is the premise of the game:

“It’s 2014, and the soldier of the future returns to encounter a new and more imminent threat along the recently completed wall on the U.S./Mexico border. The Ghosts are more powerful with an upgraded Integrated Warfighter System (IWS) but will have only 72 hours to assess the threat and stop the rebels from reaching US soil. With a border that’s 1,900 miles long and an enemy that doesn’t play by the rules, this is a job for the U.S. Military’s most elite fighting unit. This is a job for the Ghosts.”

I just wanted to share a tidbit of info with you guys. Its not about the demo really. More about marketing. If you play Battlefield 2, you would have noticed that yesterday they released a new map for free download. Don’t you think its funny how they waited the day before the PC release of the GRAW 2 Multiplayer Demo. I think someone is trying to steal the thunder here. Though BF2 is really a great game in my opinion, I think EA might be getting worried that GRAW 2 online is going to take alot of players away from Dragon Valley and Kubra Dam… lol. This should be a good fight. Maybe we as the consumer will continue to receive free maps and better updates :)

You couldn’t have made a better point. Can’t wait to see if this game will be a good one or not.

I tried the demo. The PC version is frickin sweet!!!! It has a nice facelift from GRAW 1 and the sound effects are very, very, very, very, very realistic. If you haven’t played it yet, I suggest you either download it now… or go cut your self.

    Happy Gaming :)
