Great news shredder wannabes, the Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock update for the PS3 and Xbox 360 has now gone live worldwide (well for the 360 anyway). Activision, Neversoft and RedOctane have provided this free update for GHIII, so if you own an Xbox 360 you are in luck, and if you are a PS3 user, only North American gamers will be feeling the update lovin’ at this time. While Australian and European updates for the PS3 have been submitted to Sony, it is unknown when these updates will be available, so you will just have to check your PSN often as well as the Guitar Hero forums for an official date.
The update can be accessed by playing the game while connected to PSN and Xbox Live. Here is what you can expect from this update.
- Improve Online Quick Match results and reduce “Failed to Connect to Server” messages.
- Introduce calibration screen improvements, helping users with high lag AV systems, and PS3 users with Dolby Digital enabled.
- Add the Co-Op Quickplay mode for PS3 users.
- Enable the Hyperspeed cheat to work in online games.
- Include various stability improvements and fixes.
For more information on this update check out the GH forums and check back with us often for future info.

An update! For Guitar Hero III. May need to buy it.
