jericho 3 Germany Denies Jericho Rating

News outlet Heise has reported that USK, Germany’s rating system has refused to give Codemasters’ upcoming horror title Clive Barker’s  Jericho a rating. From a Google translation of the Heise story, it would seem Jericho will be effectively condemned to the same fate as Crackdown, released earlier this year.

Cannot be sold to minors or via online orders. In addition, cannot be displayed in stores or advertised.

According to Heise, Sony and Microsoft won’t market a game for a console without a USK classification, so it looks as though only the PC version will be available and only to those 18 and over. Given the close proximity of European nations, Germans that really must have Jericho can go to Austria to purchase it.

Jericho is slated for an October 23rd launch in the US on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360. The game will be eligible for release in Germany October 26th.
