I have Q6600 at 3Ghz 333fsb and 2 8800 gtx in sli. I play on Ultra High 720p and get average of 27 fps and min of 15 fps. In 1080p i get an average of 23 fps and min of 12. Two 9800 GX2s in sli should run this game silky smooth at 720p and almost if not perfect in 1080p.

If anyone wants to know what FPS the ultimate gaming PC plays Crysis at I can tell you.

In this months Personal Computer World magazine they review the Cyberpower Galaxy Ultimate which costs £3,599 ($7,147). It has a quad core X9650 Intel CPU overclocked to 4ghz, 4gb Ram and 3 overclocked 8800GTXs in triple Sli.

With all of that it managed a maximum of 55fps.

also Shaun, nVidia never lost the crown. The 3870X2 only outpreforms a GTX (Much less an Ultra) in fake, canned benchmarks. Its not 2002, REAL gameplay is the only way to test it out for real. The architechture of the ATI cards is out of whack. The 640 Stream Processor 3870X2 gets beaten by 128 SP GTX.

Steve you are way off the mark on a couple of things and right on in others.
nVidia is just going to poop out more G92’s with new names. But if you think that the reason is that modern games arent adapting it, you are SORELY mistaken. Have you ever played Crysis, or World in Conflict? I have a 8800 GTS 96 SLI and I have troubles keeping a playable framerate at 1680×1050 with some settings medium and some settings high in World in Conflict. Lets not even talk about Crysis then too please.

And Martin you are lying. YouTube a Ultra-Sli and you see that it cant play Crysis in very-high at 1680-1050, so stop making things up.

Yeah the guy above is prob the most correct, but a bit off…

Firstly crysis is playable at those frames as the guy mentioned above but only on high settings and at that resolution and no filtering.

It is the filtering, the very high settings and larger resolutions that enable DX10 which really blow current graphics cards away!

I think that the 9800gx2 will be shit if it is only supports 4 way sli, i would be looking for 6 way SLI

Thats because 2 of those in SLI will only be about the same as a 3 SLI ultras. As im going on the fact that one of the 9800gx2 will be about 50% faster than the ultra!.

I don’t understand you people… sometimes i don’t understand.
To be honest I can play crysis at 30 to 60 frames with all in very high quality.
My PC has:

ECS PN2 SLI2+
2GB RAM Reaper OCZ 1060mhz
Intel Core 2 Duo 6750
8800 GTX MSI OC (And i never overclocked it.)
Game resolution: 1680 x 1050 32 bits.

So… this is why i don’t understand…i don’t have the best machine out there… actually my micro sux and the 8800 is not the fastest…and i only have one…

Crysis always plays at 40+ frames per second…it goes to 30 frames per second only in parts where there are TOO MANY…and I MEAN…TOO MANY explotions…

I think that you don’t know how to configure your pc, or you have never played crysis and you are all just blablablablabla.

Sorry for my bad english, but i had to tell you guys that crysis is not that big monster that everybody says…it is a very playable game…and if you have two 8800 gtx you can play it just perfect at any resolution.

with the release of a certain rival’s somethin-somthing-ahem, outdoing nvidia’s ahem-cough in preformance and price, i think that the 9800GX2 will have to be either 50+% faster than 8800’s, or just slightly more expensive. Or both. Nvidia just been rudely awoken from their 1 year slumber. right now, im loving those somethin-somethings.

GF 6200 128mb? hehe
Im currently on that one now upgrading to an 8800 GT 512mb Extreme… on my new PC in few days.
Even now believe it or not, Crysis is actually Playable on my Athlon XP 2600.
Only just tho, wouldnt want to much action happening tho.
Hopefullly these new cards will bring the prices down, i wanna second 8800 card.

The problem with this will be the same problem that crippled the original GX2. You could fit 2 of these for quad Sli but if a game doesn’t have an Sli profile you will only be using 1 of the 4 GPU’s.

The original GX2s were made from 2 7900GTX’s but they actually had to be under-clocked to 7900GT speeds because of cooling problems so on a lot of games you actually ended up with $1600 worth of cards giving you the performance of a single $350 7900GT.

I remember looking at a load of benchmarks for the cards and my single X1900XTX won the majority of the benchmarks against a twin GX2 quad sli setup. In the games that did support Sli the quad system had far better performance but that will only be noticeable if you play at huge resolutions (or you play Crysis lol).

Finnaly [maybe] finnaly 3 x 9800 gx2 3 way sli enabled hopefully crysis will be playble with high settings at 2560 x 1600 or at list 1920×1200

if not then nvidia failed again. 3 way sli system is already faild 3 x 8800 ultra or gtx playing crysis min at 60fps even in medium settings it faild game is running 20 – 30fps.

unbelivble why they created a game called crysis even todays modern graphics and hardware technology no much for the game.

I WILL GIVE NVIDIA AT LIST 2 YEARS TO COME UP A POWERFULL GPU AND TECHNOLOGY
TO CHALLENGE CRYSIS RUNNING THE GAME AT 2560 X 1600 HIGH SETTINGS OR ABOVE MIN AT 60FPS.

IF ANYONE HAVE THEIR OWN OPINIONS I LIKE TO SEE.
