When I bought this in December (and up till now) I havn’t had any problems what so ever, except if I had textures or PP (idr which one it was) on Ultra every like 30sc it would stutter idk if that is what u guys r talking about, to fix this I OCed my video card. But I havn’t ad any crashes tho

Also you guys whining about Vista, I have only had 1 problem with it and that was with my surround sound and I fixed that the day I noticed it. Otherwise it hasn’t been slow on me or anything, it was when I had my 6200 lol but go figure

plz, i cant play assassins cread with dx10 becouse it says it cant find this file :d3d10.dll
what the hell should i do ?
some1 says i should delete some files, other says i should delete the game and install it again, but plz tell me the truth version, what should i do to make the game work ?

I got rid of the stuttering by playing around in the config file.I replaced this.

heya people i had a problem like the rest of you
1st al show you what i run with…
nvidia geforce 8500gt (512Mb) intel pentium cpu D 2.8GHz 2Gb ram and vista home preimum.

all that was running and the game still crashed so i downloaded that patch i got told to and STILL dint work.

i have read there is a patch out i dont know if it works but it seems microsoft have accepted it at last YAY so am buying it tomorrow and hopefully it works YAY and if that cr33per says owt bout my rig hes fuked it i made it on money i have well all do your best…

Hey guys, I’m running the game at 1440 by 900 resolution with all the video options maxed and if I reduce the resolution or change anything at all it doesn’t change a damn thing about the stuttering issue. I have 4gb of ram in a dual core processor with a 8800GTX nvidia graphics card. I’ve tried going all the way down to 800 by 600 resolution and it doesn’t make a damn difference at all. It is definitely a software issues that will hopefully get fixed with a patch someday. Don’t hold your breath.
P.S. I’m using Windows XP, though I bought the Vista upgrade it can’t play my games for —-!

Wtf guys? i mean come on. I had no problems at all except at the beginning for a while before i formated my computer for another reason. I had to click GOW like 3 times but not a god damn problem is with mine. I don’t have a new system and i could run the thing on high!! Here is some solutions maybe everyone know but i will say it anyways

1. Make sure u don’t have 500 processors running in the background (max: 30)
2. Make sure its a legal copy of the game
3. If u have a system that came out 5 years ago. GET A NEW ONE
4. NO GOD DAMN DELL PLEASE I AM WARNING U NOW
5. Vista is not a good software to be running game but some people might make it work
6. Make sure that there is no: Viruses, Trojan, Spyware, etc. (Some of the anti- software like AVG might not pick up all the viruses. Also, Avg i had just deleted the files even if it was a critical one. So, when u had XP for a year or so and had a few viruses. Good idea to reformat your computer because there could be hidden viruses or missing files.)
7. MAKE SURE THAT THE REQUIREMENTS ARE THE SAME OR BETTER ON UR COMPUTER.
8. Some hardware may not be compatible with some of the newer software.
9. If u could play crysis demo… that is not a achievement. If u played Crysis at high level of graphics and beat it then good for u.
10. Some software could also interfere with the game too. MAKE SURE AGAIN TOO TAKE ANY SOFTWARE THAT IS NOT NEEDED. EX: AIM (WTF Y ARE U TEXTING DURING GOW)
11. There could be a 11
12. SOME updates too could interfere with ur software/hardware.
13. Make sure u leave the game to install the updates. And check back for more.
14. DO I have nothing else better to do then type this???
15. PUNKBUSTER IS A PIECE OF HORSE DUNG DON’T INSTALL IT

I’ve found that V-Sync screws up my game real bad along with some of the high texture settings. But other than that I’ve been playing it 1680 x 1050 on high/medium settings. I’ve beat the game twice now. Once on casual once on hardcore. The Brumak is pretty bad ass looking, but he’s not too hard to kill. Now on to insane mode…

I installed the game but there was no folder put under program files. how do i fix this? Also i have the crashing problem that ive read alot of other people have too. i downloaded the patch but it still doesn’t fix it. is there a way?

I found that if I disabled PDVDServ.exe in the task manager, everything works fine.
Hope that helps someone, as it took me two days of installing, uninstalling, searching, trying different combos of applications, mb drivers, video drivers, etc before I figured it out.

all you have to do to fix the 15 second crash is open the game through the startup icon located somwhere in program files/gears of war

my video card isnt great but this game should be able to play without lag on my computer on medium setting so i lowered it to look even worst then halo1 and i still get lag like crazy

It doesn’t matter how good of a computer you have(as stated by someone earlier) I have one of the fastest machines on the market. One of the biggest things I’ve noticed & people w/SLI also agree(I run cross-fire w/VERY high end cards $750 total in just video cards) You have to turn off SLI or crossfire & it will reduce the stutter substantually. This is a fact. Also Kane & lynch uses microsoft live or whatever it’s called..just like gears of war & I have to turn off crossfire for it or it is EXTREMELY slow & stutters as well. I’m still able to max everything out on both games, but the point is I have 2 cards for a reason! Running: Asus p5k deluxe w/core2duo 6850 @ 5.0ghz & 1333FSB w/4gigs of crucial ballistix tracer RAM @ 1100mhz. Zalman cooling system, xfinity ultra power supply 2x 2900xt video cards. WD 500gig sata HDD w/16mb cache @ 7200rpm & seagate 320gig sata HDD w/16mb cache. 2x samsung lightscribe, dvd RAM & everything else burners. 1 sony 20x dvd player. 1 sony floppy drive & 1 iomega zip drive And a very customized case. So like I said it’s not your computer, it’s the game & crossfire or sli being engaged. Good luck.
