The most popular piece of Xbox LIVE Marketplace downloadable content is about to become 100% free. The Gears of War “Hidden Fronts” map pack has had nearly 500,000 downloads total, and on September 3rd it will be available at no charge. The pack contains four diverse multiplayer maps: Bullet Marsh, Garden, Process, and Subway. Gears of War continues to be the most popular Xbox 360 game on Xbox LIVE, with 4 million copies sold and the highest number of unique players among all Xbox 360 games in August. We’ll just have to see if it can hold that title when Halo 3 begins to hit retailers.

This is good news, Maby i will play a round of GOW. dont flame me, GOW is a wild game, but honestly i dont play it too often. Rainbow Six is my game, GRAW 2, and Halo 3 probaly will take the top spot. But ya GOW maps should be free. Moneysoft have enough money.
Having map packs at a cost divides players. those that have it cannot play some maps with thouse that dont. It only causes frustration and leads to less players.
Well, seeing as how most new maps are about the same price as a DVD rental, and I don’t need to return them after a week or so, I seem to think of a small fee as very acceptable for new additions. Of course, there should be enough stuff included with the game to start with, instead of making it a pure money-grab.
Oh, and Call of Duty 4 is bloody awesome. I’m an avid Halo-2 fan, but after trying the CoD4 beta, I must say that Halo-3 multiplayer better bring their ‘A’ game.
Well good news if you live in the US because they block it if you dont. Its so F@cking annoying.
