GC: Halo 3 Map Editor

Halo 3 just got a million times better with one simple, yet really sweet addition. Campaign mode just got a whole lot more exiting than ever before with the addition of the “Forge” map editing system, which was announced at GC by Bungie. Unfortunately, you will not be able to warp the terrain like typical map editors, but there are many features you can use to completely change the game. I am not sure if this editor will be available for use in multi-player matches, but it will definitely be there for campaign modes.
Forge basically allows you to drop in weapons, objects, tools, spawn points and vehicles at the location of your choosing. This will completely change the way you can work your personal strategy into defeating levels. Each week, something new and exciting is being talked about when it comes to Halo 3. Some people are still not sure if this will live up to the hype, but I would have to believe that this could be the ultimate game of the decade.

Just release it on the PC with a REAL map editor
It was announced ages ago for multiplayer games.
But having it single player is extra cool.

oh no. a map editor. that would make it the most original game ever. Does anyone really care. except for the people that only play halo because they though it was innovative. Crysis will own all.Halo 3 will win the sales but it still will be ultra generic.

That’s what I thought too. It wouldn’t make sense to have Forge in Campaign would it? It’s gonna make multiplayer a million times cooler though!
False. It is MP only. That’s the official line from Bungie. Where I work.

P.S. Halo 3 will be the most awesome game EVER! This coming from a guy who has actually PLAYED the beta (Or rather Delta, but whatever), it is NOT just some generic game.
