Gay and Interspecies Marriages Presents Problems for LOTR Online

Video games can create an alternate universe, where seemingly endless possibilities may occur. Unless, however, those possibilities include marrying an animal.

Over at Salon.com there is an interesting article about how the creators of Lord of the Rings: Shadows of Angmar were going to include the ability for players to marry. But when it came to dwarf on dwarf action, not to mention dwarf on horse, the powers that be at Turbine decided to take out the feature all together.

Interesting to note, the first video game to allow same-sex marriages debuted two years before Vermont recognized the right. In a libertarian sense, video games are definitely ahead of the times.
