@weclock: The Battle length is comparable to the original game. I played the missions side by side at one point and so you may want to compare that. Though honestly I found Advance to suffer from the same time crunch - and add in the judges and random rule changes and that equaled personal frustration.

The battery is a concern even on the newer PSP because it's not appreciably better and it is a mark to the games favor that it can suck you in for a good length of time. I think Disgaea (which I'm reviewing soon for Gaming Today) has some of the same problems on the PSP.

As to the value of the game at $40, I guess I see this as a AAA title regardless of the platform its on. It is not a GBA budget title, they have enhanced it a little for the port. I paid $50 for the original when it came out in 98, I think it still is worth that price on the PSP.

@Sakoshi: Well it is turn based not real-time so you might be disappointed if you don't like the Tactics style turn-based approach. Square-Enix did not update it that much:) That sort of gameplay change would make this a new game and it is really just a port.

I have a few questions.

1. I was previously unable to play this on PS1 because of the length of the battles, but I was able to play Final Fantasy Tactics Advanced and the battles were still fairly lengthy, as a portable does this port hold the same value that Tactics Advanced had?

2. The Battery Issue: I have a psp slim and battery life is supposedly extended, even though they're using a weaker battery, do you foresee this being an issue with this game?

3. Do you think an overall score of 8 warrants the high price? It's a good game, but there are supposedly really good games out that were released at $20 as opposed to FFT's $40.
