Gaming Steve posted an interesting article titled “Gaming Steve’s Top 10 Games That Nobody Played In 2007″. I may not agree with his entire list, but it’s an interesting read. The 10 games he listed are:
Check out this link to view his reasoning behind all picks. Most games above I would have to agree with other than The Darkness and Overlord. The Darkness was great fun for a few days, but the sloppy multi-player element really turned me off. It felt as if the game designers simply got lazy when they tossed that into the game. The other game I would not have put on the list would be Overlord. I’m not sure what to say about Overlord exactly, but it was over-rated by the press around release time. Overlord wore on my nerves after a couple hours of playing. It was simply too easy for the type of genre it fell into in my opinion.

What the hell is this guy smoking. Everyone has played portal, so why is it in a top ten list of the best games no one played.
Maybe he wrote it back when nobody played it? Or maybe your just speculating, I mean…I haven’t played it nor have many others.
Actually the Orange Box hasn’t sold nearly as well as you might think. In fact, it’s been a pretty big disappointment so far, especially compared to the “big games” like Halo 3, Guitar Hero III, and the like.
Take a look at these sales numbers and you’ll see:

If I still played on my PS2, I’d have snapped up Rogue Galaxy in an instant (those developers just know how to create solid fun games). After Yahtzee though, I don’t think anyone will go anywhere near the liqourice twizzlers…I mean, The Darkness.
@David – You’re right, but only in regards to console sales. On the PC, we don’t know specific numbers since NPD doesn’t track Steam content or PC games at all.
This isn’t a terrible list; Zack & Wiki and Jeanne both deserved more attention than they got. But The Darkness? It had its week in the spotlight and didn’t sell all that poorly on 360.
The Darkness is not worth buying due to a lack of replayability and crappy multiplayer, but has a great single player story. Definatly worth renting and beating it over the course of a week or less.
Gauldar, I agree… the Darkness is great fun, but it’s one of those games you play through once and that’s it. I don’t know anyone who held on to it much more than a week or two.
@David
It’s still in the top 10. Being in the top 10 isn’t exactly bad. And it was only counting sales for the Xbox 360 version. Come to think of it Guitar Hero 3 across all platforms sold far more than anything close to it (Halo 3).
A simple game that probably took
