The Apple II computer has earned it’s place in history as the system that brought home computers into use as a family machine. It also, was in many cases, the first desktop PC school children were exposed to.
Gamasutra has an article featuring the Apple II and all it’s incarnations as a part of it’s History of Gaming Platforms series. Read about how two high school delinquents selling illegal “blue boxes,” devices went on to found one of the most long lived and influential lines of home computers.

where can I find one of these beautiful bastards? Also, why did you remove the recent comments section? I loved that. # of posts was useless.. but recent comments was awesome…
Unfortunately the recent comments feature uses up a lot of resources and our site has been under some really heavy traffic lately. Hopefully we’ll be able to re-enable that feature soon.
I know a guy with one of the original Apple IIs and games(time Dungeon and the Wonderful World of Eamon to name a few) to go on it. He got it from my wife, who learned basic programing on it.
