American McGee’s Grimm has another new episode available on GameTap this week. “The Girl Without Hands” is the latest macabre addition to the game’s strange but fun premise – and like previous episodes, this one is also free to non-subscribers during the first 24 hours after release.
Other than Grimm, the only other subscription game to be added this week is Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords.
- Grimm: The Girl Without Hands – In this episode, the devil tricks a lowly miller into trading his daughter for the gift of wealth. Each time the devil comes to collect, the girl is so soaked with tears of sadness that the devil decides to come back another time. Accordingly, the miller cuts off the girl’s hands so that she’s constantly crying and therefore unwanted by the devil. The girl ultimately ends up marrying a king, but when he goes off to war, the devil returns and tricks the girl into thinking that the king has ordered her execution, driving her out of the castle and back to her father. She’s, of course, grateful to return to a place of safety until Grimm reminds her of the soon-to-be-famous phrase “an arm for an arm.”
- Puzzle Quest: Challenge of Warlords – Valusoft’s groundbreaking Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords combines addictive match-three puzzles with a surprisingly deep RPG set in the Warlords universe. Create a custom character and build your empire by embarking in over 150 quests, earning experience and gold by beating your opponents in puzzle challenges. With multiple game modes, customized spells and attacks and a continuous reward system, Puzzle Quest is a game for just about everybody.
Just like last week, GameTap has not added any new free games to the line-up, but if you cannot find something to play in their large library which spans 142 titles – you must have every game known to man in your gaming closet.
Only three more episodes of Grimm remain, which will be released via the following schedule:
September 4 Godfather Death
September 11 The Devil and His Three Golden Hairs
September 18 Beauty and the Beast
