There’s few things like a good Civilization game, so what better way to round out the first 1,000 titles to appear in GameTap’s catalog than Sid Meier’s Civilization IV. If that’s not really your bag (understandable) or aren’t a subscriber to GameTap, this week’s new addition to the Free Play library might be more up your alley.

To celebrate the Hitman movie coming out next week, Hitman: Contracts, the third game in the series, is now free to play on GameTap. That brings the total to 50 free games – nothin’ wrong with that, eh?

That’s really disappointing, I remember signing up for GameTap when it first came out and then stopped, but a couple of weeks ago I signed back up. I was expecting Crysis or another high quality title as their 1,000th game.

Yeah, like they were going to get that on GameTap. I think I might be trying out Civilization IV this weekend, if I can shake my eight year old shadow for a little while.
