gfw Games for Windows Live is Now Free for Multiplayers

Love playing multiplayer games on you PC with your buddies on Xbox LIVE? Don’t like paying a subscription fee just to frag your buddies? Now, you no longer have to.

According to Miscrosoft’s Gamerscrore Blog, where Microsoft, Xbox and Games employees blog and dish about the goings on inside the company, Games for Windows Live is now “fee free” for all multiplayer games.

Pulled from the Site:

Games for Windows – LIVE – our online multiplayer gaming service for Windows, now offers completely free multiplayer. No exceptions – multiplayer is completely free, even cross-platform gameplay with XBOX 360 users.

This isn’t just for new Windows games (although there are some great games coming out, like Dawn of War 2 and Fallout 3). We’ve also enabled completely free multiplayer for all existing Windows games that use Games for Windows – LIVE, from Gears of War to Shadowrun to Universe at War.

Now we have even more reason to play with each other.

Yes why charge any longer! You have enough people paying for Xbox Live Gold memberships (myself included), that $3 a month dont cause problems. Maby someday Xbox live will be free like Sonys PSN and now Microsofts Games for Windows.

Sounds like they’re trying to prop up the PC gaming side of the business. I’m sure this’ll tick off the 360 fanboys.

  5. Lithium says:

Yeah well i’m sure the entire “MGS4 isn’t on 360″ will tick them off too

If they do port MGS4 to the 360…. it won’t be the same. It will end up exactly like the last port. Crappy controls, slow loads, oh and you won’t get the full excitment of the audio i will tell you that…

    mmmmm… explosions in 7.1 surround sound… -^^-

Anywho… I’m glad they did this. XD BTW the 360 will NEVER have free multiplayer unless the game supplies it itself.

=D Ps3 is better anyways… and PC beats them all. Crysis proves this theory correct =D

I don’t know of any FPS but, the third person shooter, Kane and Lynch has no autoaim, or very bad autoaim…either way its a fair match for PC vs 360 fraggin.
