GamerchiX Turn 2 Years Old – And They Said Girls Don’t Play Games

Two years ago, the Xbox.com forums saw a thread created which was entitled “Looking for Xbox GamerchiX.” Today, Xbox GamerchiX is a group of all-female gamers with thousands of members from all across the globe. Spearheaded by the wonderful TriXie from Microsoft, as well as PMS Kitty and DirtyDiva, the group celebrated its second birthday on June 6 with a total of more than 6,000 members to date.

The XGX Manifesto, as found on Xbox.com, reads:

If you play games, you’re a gamer chick. Whether you’re an Xbox Halo 2 champ, play RPGs on the PC, or Mah Jong Tiles on MSN Games, you’re a gamer chick.

Xbox GamerchiX don’t talk trash about other women. Ever. When women stop hating on each other … we will rule the world!

Xbox GamerchiX support each other.

Xbox GamerchiX are good role models for young gamer girls.

Xbox GamerchiX are not pin-ups. We’re all hot in our own unique way, but it’s about the games and the companionship, not T&A.

You can be a member of any clan or group, but while you’re part of GamerchiX, you don’t talk trash about other gamers.

Having both a Y chromosome and an unmitigated urge to do things that would make me anything but a good role model for anyone, I’ll unfortunately never be a member, myself. But I do know a number of people who are in the group, and they’re all good, friendly people. Congratulations to TriXie and company on two years of going strong — keep it up!
