GamePolitics Digs Up Dirt on Xbox 360 Red Ring of DEATH!

GamePolitics has been personally motivated to dig up the dirt on the Microsoft Xbox 360 “red lights of death”. Like David who reported his loss earlier this week, they have been inspired to right an expose on the whole sordid mess while their Xbox is on its way to Texas for repairs. It seems that the number of machines afflicted must be higher than the 3-5 percent reported by Microsoft. According to repair specialists, its harder to repair than advertised and may be a design problem.
The article is very well researched and while I personally own an Xbox 360 and haven’t yet experienced this phenomenon (knock on wood), the whole business has really brought up some doubts about the way Microsoft is doing business. Check it out.

well i get the red lights during NBA 2K8 and thats the only game it does it on… and it wont cut off you have to take the power cord out of the back to cut it off and then it works fine on every other game……. ahhh its fucked up… is this power cord shit with the surge protector true?….

as far as i can gather, yes, surge plugs do cause the RROD. but as far as i know, it doesnt cause it on specific games.

and i plaed NBA 2K8 and it didnt fuck up my xbox it is just the fact that it will just die eventaly cause it is microsofts tecnology and they are shit l0l so yeer mine has been fine ever since november last year when it was fixed so yeer and it has got 3 more years of warrenty so i dont care to much anymores. Well i bilive fort knox has a great theroy it can be very well a PROFIT if it was not i think micro soft would tell us about this problem.I myself have been getting the red lights of death/rrod for quite some time now. I have managed to fix it nomorus times this time im not sure if i will be so lucky. Most of the time i just let my xbox cool down overnight but it get very annoying when you play your xbox for about 2 hours and then get this viras. Its quite annoying and i still go with fort knoxs theroy. besides i heard that the elite dosent do this problem kind of my theroy but im not sure.MICROSOFT why dont you tell us what is causing this viras and mabby relice some new xboxes that dont do it? you have made a awsum product…even though it dosent even work

ok now we all have 1 problum the red light it is fikubull u must what a day heat it in towe or by a new hard drive elets can git the vires now that dint tell u that dut it can be fex up short the power by unepluging the fuse in the room thin wipe it clean or a new hard drave bothe suck donky balls but thay wherk it tack a good day or to and to gite it on a elet it must be trasverd by anather x box and it not cerabul eltes never git red of it sarry
hey guys, i just got the rings and a power cycle worked. after 5 difference instances, the ring stuck. Now every time i turn it on those three little annoying things pop up. I read that you can also get 1, 2, or 4 rings to turn red and that three rings is a hardware malfunction. i think thats just a nice way of saying, “sorry guys, but your xbox is trashed.”
hi peeps i read most of the older posts and i got the same prob. i have a cracked x box yeah a cracked x box u heard me right i dont use xbox live but i get all the games for crazy low prices , so as it turns out even cracked xbox’s have the damn 3r’s of d prob so if any of u kind folks is willing to tell me wtf i gotta do now nowing i live in libya and there aint noting that even resembles a MS office or retailer or anytin here pleeeez help help help

this all started for me a few dyas ago. i was playing the elder scrolls oblivion and thought ill save and go on halo 3 for a bit. i save my oblivion and go onto halo 3, a warning pops up saying that the disk is unreconisable (ive had halo for well over a year never had this problem before) so i check my gamer profile and it says its corrupted so i delete it and recover it.
then i try halo 3 again still unreconisable and have tried multiple halo 3’s (all my other games work) so then i get error 68 (i think) which is HDD failure (i think) i take out my 20gb HDD memory unit and start up the console all fine and i can play halo 3. when i put my HDD unit back in its slow and cant play halo 3 but other games fine (some game saves have been erased)
any help is appriciated
