Master Chief Waxed

As Stephany had been covering earlier this week, a 7-foot-2 waxed likeness of Master Chief has been unvieled at Madame Tussauds in Las Vegas. The ’stiq have now graced us with a photo-op of the mack daddy himself. Pay no attention to the small weaking with the goofy grin standing next to our demigod, that’s just Fall Out Boy’s Pete Wentz.

The video game mogul is a first in the 250 year history of Tussauds’ waxdom. Contrary to what many assume, the statue itself is actually made of clay. It took the London based company a 1000 pounds of clay to fabricate his 7′2″ 275 lbs frame – not to mention the ten artists working 892 man-hours. When it was all said and done, the finished statue was transported from London to Vegas for public display. According to a Tussaud rep, “The Master Chief may go on loan to other locations, but his permanent home will be in Las Vegas.” Also mentioned was an event at the Vegas location for the Halo 3 launch, but details are still being worked out with Microsoft.

Certainly an interesting way to promote and generate hype for a video game launch.
